Lady of the House Releases South African Winners Compilation Spotlighting Three Powerful New Voices: Queen Leshka, Lu-Zer, Sharm Pillay

The wait is over. The Lady of the House South African Winners Compilation is officially live, marking a defining moment for the global movement and for three South African artists whose stories now travel far beyond their borders. More than a compilation, this release captures a shared intention. To create space, visibility and longevity for women and non-binary producers shaping the future of electronic music.

Born from the inaugural Lady of the House South Africa demo competition, the project reflects months of listening, mentorship and deliberate curation. In partnership with Jägermeister’s Save The Night initiative and supported by global platforms including the Pete Tong DJ Academy, Beatport, TribeXR, Gray Area, and Drumsheds; Lady of the House sought not just technical excellence, but authenticity and emotional truth. The result is a body of work that feels grounded in lived experience while remaining open to the global dance floor.

At the heart of the compilation are three singles that stand confidently on their own while forming a cohesive narrative together. Each track speaks to a different emotional register, yet all are connected by the ethos that Lady of the House continues to champion. Creative freedom, courage and community.

Queen Leshka opens the journey with Soul Train, a warm and soulful Amapiano offering that moves with intention. Built on groove and emotional lift, the track invites listeners into a rolling rhythm that feels both familiar and expansive. Drawing from her deep understanding of dance music as a shared language, Queen Leshka blends Amapiano with influences from wider electronic traditions, creating a sound that resonates across borders while remaining rooted in South African rhythm and joy. Soul Train carries an ease that comes from confidence and play, reminding listeners that movement itself can be a form of connection.

Lu-Zer’s Ndawo Yami shifts the emotional centre inward. Translating to “My Place” in isiZulu, the track is a deeply personal meditation on grief, healing and imagination. Inspired by the late artist Zamajobe’s song of the same name and written in honour of Lu-Zer’s late mother, Ndawo Yami becomes a dreamlike space where memory and sound meet. Psychedelic Afro jazz textures, rich strings and layered rhythms create a sonic environment that feels suspended in time. It is a debut that does not shy away from vulnerability, instead offering music as a place to rest, to dance gently through pain and to find light again.

Sharm Pillay’s Soul To Soul closes the compilation with a powerful surge of emotional clarity. Anchored in melodic techno, the track transforms personal hardship into strength and release. From its opening moments, Soul To Soul carries a sense of resolve, guided by a melody that lingers long after the final beat. Created through an intuitive and deeply spiritual process, the track reflects Sharm Pillay’s belief in music as a tool for healing and remembrance. It is a call to rise, to reclaim one’s voice and to bring humanity back onto the dance floor.

While each artist brings a distinct sonic identity, the compilation remains unmistakably a Lady of the House project. The careful sequencing, the emphasis on storytelling, and the commitment to presenting artists with dignity and depth reflect a platform that continues to redefine what support in the music industry can look like. The South African Winners Compilation builds on previous Lady of the House releases while grounding itself firmly in local context, honouring the richness and diversity of South Africa’s electronic landscape.

This release also represents the outcome of collective belief. From the Godmothers who served as mentors and judges, including Gigi Lamayne, Shamiso, NamakauStar and Tamara Dey, to the wider network of partners and supporters, the project stands as proof of what becomes possible when opportunity is paired with intention. The process was both challenging and meaningful, shaped by the responsibility of choosing voices that would carry a wider movement forward.

As the Lady of the House journey continues to expand across the Global South and beyond, the South African Winners Compilation stands as a powerful marker. It is a celebration of emergence rather than arrival. A reminder that when underrepresented voices are given space, the music does more than fill dance floors. It tells stories, heals wounds and opens doors for what comes next.
