Amapiano Record Producer Officixl RSA Talks About His Drive, Dedication and Destination

Flexing his chops with the release of his studio album An Elementary Episode II on the 20th of June 2025, amapiano record producer Godfrey Maledi, popularly known as Officixl RSA, proved that he is poised to take up space in the yanos scene since his ear-bending debut single “Drummonades” back in 2022. Three years on and now signed to Sony Music, the sound maestro has built a respectable rep for himself as a brand, amassing over 440 000 monthly listeners on Spotify as a solo artist, with his most popular song on the platform scoring over four million listens since its time of release.

Making meaningful steps with his LP, Maledi spoke about what drove him and the values which have pivoted him to the pole position he now finds himself at as he continues to take strides in augmenting his value in the industry.

“I believe in myself a lot, and I do feel like I’m in a good place as a musician. What I’m focused on the most right now is making new music. My main aim as Officixl RSA is to remain humble and to continue working, you understand?” he said.

Drive without proper direction is merely speed that goes everywhere but ultimately burns out in the middle of nowhere. Officixl RSA noted that what has been key in his growth is having a good manager who not only helmed his career but also held him to a high standard when it came to the kind of music he was supposed to put out to meet expectations as well as deadlines. He also touched on the vitality of his fans and the pressure of delivering work of the highest quality and satisfying their demands.

“Throughout my time trying to climb the ladder as a musician, one thing I have come to realise is important is having a solid manager. Someone who will take care of your brand and lead you and make sure you don’t make all the wrong moves that will damage you in the long run. Because when you are set in that department, you understand that in as much as you are well-known, there’s someone to keep you in check when it comes to delivering on your work and making sure that the fans are getting what they need and pay for. That kind of thing gives you numbers and puts you on the next level,” Maledi said.

Looking back at how far he has come, Maledi noted that in as much as there has been much growth and progression in the commercial circuit, his sound hasn’t evolved much from what he used to do in the past, proving that in exceptional cases comfort and familiarity can do one good when the craft is taken care of.

“When I look at the older works of my catalogue, I don’t feel like I’ve changed much. The sound I came up with is my own, and when I look at what I make now, it doesn’t feel different, and I think that is what continues to help my career,” Officixl RSA said.

An avid basketball player and aficionado when he’s not in studio, Officixl RSA spoke life into his career, prophesying the manifestation of ambitions filled with grandeur as well as making it to the echelons of global renown with his talents.

“When I look at myself, I am aware of where I am going and what I’m doing. So whenever I envision my future self, I see myself getting big as a musician – bigger than I currently am – and collaborating with some of the world’s biggest names internationally in the industry. I know that these things take time, but I do feel like my direction is promising,” he said.
