Gogo Maweni to Appear In Court After Being Nabbed for Alleged Murder and Assault
Controversial traditional healer and podcaster Makgotso Mofokeng, commonly known as Gogo Maweni, has been apprehended and will be making a court appearance for alleged murder and assault.
In a series of leaked screenshots implicating Maweni and purporting to be an official cold case report, Mofokeng was arrested on the strength of five murder charges and another for assault, with all these crimes being given CAS numbers dating back to 2020 while the most recent one is timestamped as a 2024 report.
“On Sunday 19 January 2025 at about 08:00, members from the Gauteng Province Cold Case Investigation Unit and members from the Gauteng Counter Intelligence Investigation office embarked on an intelligence drive operation to trace and arrest the above mentioned suspect wanted on an assault charge. The information on the whereabouts of the suspect was followed up and led us to the suspects residence in Failands and later to the Mondeor area where the suspect was traced and arrested,” said the report.

Furthermore, Maweni is said to be currently detained at Mondeor SAPS and will be having her day in court on the 20th of January 2025 at the Protea Magistrates Court, where bail is expected to be opposed.
As of today, nothing from Maweni’s socials and from her team has surfaced to refute these publicised developments.
