Iconic Zamajobe Releases Her Long-Awaited Album: “UMI”
The wait is over! Zamajobe, the trailblazing artist known for her electrifying stage presence and soul-stirring vocals released her latest masterpiece, UMI, on the 20th of November to commemorate the 20th anniversary of her debut album Ndawo Yami. This new album also celebrates Afro-soul, blending rich, traditional African rhythms with contemporary soul influences, creating a timeless and captivating body of sound. The milestone marks a journey of passion, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to creating timeless music.
“Umi is short for my son’s name Uminathi and means mother in Arabic. More than anything else, I am a mother because that is the hardest, humbling, and fulfilling job you can ever do,” said Zamajobe.

UMI features 10 tracks, including the powerful lead single, ‘Akusemnandi’, which has already garnered critical acclaim for its touching lyrics and lush instrumentation.
