Msaki Releases Two Singles Ahead of Sophomore Double Album
Song Catcher and Founder of ALTBLK, Msaki, recently announced the release of her upcoming double album: Platinumb Heart Open and Platinumb Heart Beating. In this double album, a cohort of producers and contributors help showcase the artist’s expression as a folk singer side and dance electro house singer.
The double album, which will be out on 19 November 2021, will have 36 tracks altogether. This generous offering of Msaki’s exceptional artistry consists of her collaborating with a rich and diverse pool of co-writers, producers, and voices Among the voices includes the likes of TRESOR, Simmy, Kid X, Beatenberg, Nonku Phiri, Focalistic, The Brother Moves On, Black Motion, Thesis ZA and more. With Neo Muyanga, Sun-EL Musician, Kenza, Diplo, Kabza De Small, Abidoza, Major League DJz and Black Coffee joining the list of producers.
“The folk singer-songwriter side of me and the dance electro house, if broken down to its elements, are all the same. I’m in no conflict in the two worlds and I am becoming more comfortable with their interchangeability and being their synthesis point,” shares Msaki.
About her collaborators, she says: “They have encouraged me to build a home and say something as myself. This is how I find myself with two projects in one. It’s strange because this has always felt like two works emotionally.”
Platinumb Heart Open is the acoustic/live recorded side of the dual album. It’s consists of the single “Fetch Your Life II” and is available to stream or download here.
Platinumb Heart Beating is the dance and electronic side of the dual album with “Mntakababa” featuring Kabza De Small and Focalistic as the first dance single. It’s available to stream or download here.
