Boohle, KMAT and Dee Koala have joined forces with Jik’iZinto, a nationwide movement that leverages digital and media products. The Jik’iZinto movement was designed to inspire and equip South Africa’s youth with the knowledge and resources they need to make informed, connected decisions about their lives, their mental health, sexual health, and economic participation. At its core, the movement is about instilling hope, fostering resilience, and creating a lasting impact for future generations.

“JiK’iZinto is a reminder that we have the power within us to create change. It’s about empowering ourselves with knowledge, confidence, and support so we can overcome challenges and achieve our goals.” Says Durban-born amapiano vocalist Boohle.

Jik’iZinto aims to tackle the barriers facing South Africa’s youth—particularly young women—who are disproportionately affected by unemployment, lack of education, and socio-economic inequalities. The movement provides practical tools and resources to help young people build a better future, offering hope, guidance and fostering resilience while they navigate life.

KMAT from Pretoria who co-produced  “Iskhath’ Sam Manje” with Atmos Blaq, Ice Beats Slide and TheBlackGuy, “Got involved in Jik’iZinto because I believe more young women need help and knowledge on how to manoeuvre situations that they are facing in their lives. Back in the days there were more educational shows on TV and radio for everyone to learn about the “sensitive” topics that seem taboo to the public. I believe in Jik’iZinto because what we’re doing will reopen those dialogues and why not be a part of a movement that’s pushing something so positive.

“The track basically talks about changing your life and choosing to do better for yourself. It tells the listener that it’s time to take charge of their lives and encourages them to stand steadfast midst the adversities but also gives them hope that things will get better.”

Cape Town-based rapper Dee Koala says “The vision and idea behind Jik’iZinto is something I proudly endorse. Being part of such a powerful movement and wanting to encourage the youth to go and fetch their dreams is something amazing to be part of.”

“Our energies blended so well. It was an amazing experience.” She adds about the collaboration. “With my verse it’s all about being so proud of who you are and standing for what you believe in as well as not letting anybody tell you otherwise.”

KMAT also has a fantastic time recording. “The experience was amazing because I got to work with SA’s biggest and most talented artists. Seeing how everyone contributed and worked with each other was inspiring and very easy. I’m very grateful to have met and worked with each and everyone on this project. The pool of talent was so versatile, I come from a piano background Boohle as well but Dee Koala is from Hip Hop yet she managed to hop on a 3-step song and we produced magic. We didn’t struggle to find the beat and from there the lyrics and the manner in which everyone was prompted to go to the booth was so organic.”

A musical convergence of 3 step & Amapiano, featuring production by Atmos Blaq, a global touring DJ and one of the pioneers of 3-Step, together with Ice Beats Slide whose grimy signature AmaPiano  basslines heard in Uncle Waffle’s stellar global sound, and TheBlackGuy finesses the Amapiano and 3 Step combo to birth a first for Mzansi.

“This song is the result of the power of culture and the innovation in music to drive purpose.” Executive Producer & A&R director Bradley Williams.
