Maroon 5 To Grace South African Shores Later This Month

American pop rock band Maroon 5 are set to touch down on South African shores later this month on a two-leg show courtesy of the popular global music festival Calabash South Africa, presented by Big Concerts. The band will be performing at the DHL Stadium in Cape Town and the FNB Stadium at Johannesburg.

The two-day concert will mark almost three decades since the drop of their debut effort We Like Digging? (1995). Since their first project, Maroon 5 have been etched the band’s name into the hearts of millions and onto history boards with consistent hits over the years birthed from the band’s eclectic sound and Levin’s emotive vocals. With singles such as “Payphone”, Girls Like You” and “Moves Like Jagger”, they are an act with a firm hold on the global music village.

The three-time Grammy-winning group will be joined by acts such as English alternative rock band Keane, who specialise in the piano-driven pop rock niche and will be touching the 20th anniversary since the drop of their debut album Hopes and Fears (2004). Italian musician Meduza will also be joining, having made a mark with the single “Piece of Your Heart”. Dynamic singer, performer and mastermind of “Kings & Queens” Ava Max will also be gracing Mzansi, alongside multi-instrumentalist Will Linley, and SAMA-winning South African singer-songwriter Lloyiso.
